Forgings are workpiece or blank obtained by forging deformation of metal billets. The mechanical properties of metal billets can be changed by applying pressure to produce plastic deformation. Forgings can be divided into cold forging warm forging and hot forging according to the temperature of the billet during processing. Cold forging is generally processed at room temperature, while hot forging is processed at a recrystallization temperature higher than the metal billet.

Forgings surface protection from forgings storage, forgings hoisting, forgings transportation, processing area, welding, etc.

Forgings storage: there should be special storage rack, storage rack should be wood or surface painted carbon steel support or cushion with rubber pad, to isolate from carbon steel and other metal materials. Storage, storage location should be easy to lift, and other materials storage area is relatively isolated, protective measures should be taken to avoid dust, oil, rust pollution of stainless steel.

Forgings lifting: special lifting tools should be used when lifting, such as lifting belt and special clamping head. It is strictly forbidden to use wire rope to avoid scratching the surface, and impact bump should be avoided when lifting and placing.

Forgings transportation: transportation, the application of transportation tools (such as car, battery car, etc.), and should be clean with isolation protection measures, to prevent dust, oil, rust pollution of stainless steel. No dragging, avoid bump, scratch.

Processing zone: forging processing area should be relatively fixed. Isolation measures should be taken for the platform in the forging processing area, such as laying rubber pads. The location management and civilized production of forging processing area should be strengthened to avoid damage and pollution of forging.

Blanking: blanking forgings using shear or plasma cutting, sawing, etc.

Mechanical processing: forgings in the car, milling and other mechanical processing should also pay attention to protection, the completion of the work should be cleaned up the workpiece surface oil, iron and other debris.

Forming processing: in the process of rolling plate and bending, effective measures should be taken to avoid scratches and creases on the surface of stainless steel parts.

Riveting and welding: forgings in the group, should avoid forced assembly, especially to avoid flame baking school assembly. Group or production process such as temporary plasma cutting, isolation measures should be taken to avoid cutting slag pollution to other stainless steel parts. After cutting, the cutting slag on the workpiece should be cleaned.

Welding: before welding forgings, grease, rust, dust and other sundries must be carefully removed. When welding, try to use argon arc welding. When using manual arc welding, small current and fast welding should be used to avoid swing. It is forbidden to start arc in non-welding area, and the ground wire is in proper position and firmly connected to avoid arc abrasion. Welding should take anti-splash measures (such as whitewashing methods). After welding, use stainless steel (not carbon steel) flat shovel to clean slag and spatter thoroughly.

Multilayer welding: when multilayer welding, the slag between layers must be cleaned. Multilayer welding, should control the temperature between layers, generally not more than 60℃.

Weld: weld joint should be polished, weld surface shall not have slag, porosity, edge bite, splash, crack, not fusion, not penetration defects, weld and base metal should be smooth transition, not lower than the base metal.

Orthopedic: forgings of orthopedic, should avoid the use of flame heating method, especially not allowed to repeatedly heating the same area. When orthopedic, try to use mechanical devices, or with wooden hammer (rubber hammer) or cushion rubber pad hammer, do not use hammer hammer, in order to avoid damage to the forging.

Handling: forgings in the process of handling, the application of transport (such as car, battery car or crane, etc.), and should be clean with isolation protection measures, to prevent dust, oil, rust pollution of stainless steel. It is strictly prohibited to drag directly on the platform or the ground, and it is strictly prohibited to bump and scratch.
