In order to facilitate the flow forming of metal billets, reasonable measures can be taken to reduce the deformation resistance and save the energy of equipment, the following ways are generally adopted to achieve:

1, master the forging material characteristics, choose reasonable deformation temperature, deformation speed, deformation degree.

2, to promote the homogenization of the chemical composition and microstructure of the material, such as large high alloy steel ingot, high temperature homogenization treatment, so that the plasticity of the material is improved.

3, choose to determine the most favorable deformation process, such as forging hard deformation, low plastic high alloy steel forgings, in order to make the material surface in a state of compression during upsetting, to prevent tangential tension and crack, can be used to forge the upsetting process.

4, using different tools to operate, the correct use of tools can improve the deformation of the uneven. Such as long shaft forgings, v-shaped anvil or circular anvil can be used to increase the pressure on the surface of the forgings, so that the plasticity is improved, and can prevent the surface and center of the forgings from cracking.

5, improve the operation method to reduce the influence of friction and cooling when forging forging billet, avoid upsetting phenomenon. For example, for pancakes forging of low plastic materials, two pieces can be stacked and upset once, and then turn each piece 180°, the second upsetting process method to solve.

6, the use of better lubrication measures can make the forging, die surface condition is improved, reduce the impact of friction, uniform deformation, so as to reduce the deformation resistance.
