The selection of reasonable die forging process is the key of forging process design. When choosing the die forging process plan, we should start from the specific production conditions and consider the technical and economic problems comprehensively. The basic principle of process selection is to ensure the technical possibility and economic rationality of forging production. The quality and quantity of forgings should be satisfied in the process, and the production cost of forgings should be low and the economic benefits should be better. This paper mainly explains the choice of die forging process scheme from the technical point of view.

1. Selection of die forging process

The same forging can be manufactured on different equipment using different processes. The economic effect is also different due to the different technological equipment (equipment and mold shell, etc.) used in different technological schemes. When the production batch is large, die forging hammer or hot die forging press can be used; If the batch is not too large, screw press can be used or in the free forging hammer tire die forging and fixed die forging. No matter what kind of process must ensure the quality requirements of forgings, the selection of process scheme must also consider the specific conditions of the factory, try to choose a reasonable process scheme according to the current equipment situation of the factory.

2. Selection of die forging method


Die forging method is different methods that can be used in the production of forgings on some equipment, such as single die forging, turn die forging, one fire more than one piece, one die more than one piece, joint forging and so on. Reasonable selection of die forging method can increase die forging productivity, simplify die forging steps and reduce material consumption.

For slender, flat and thin forgings with a drop, it is not appropriate to use the head die forging, because in forging the second will make the clamping of the first forging deformation.
